Benedictine Mesa Men's Basketball defeated CETYS Mexicali on their Senior Night 87-47.
First Half
The Redhawks came out sharp, applying immediate defensive pressure as
Eric Blackwell jumped a passing lane for an early steal. After falling behind 3–0, Benedictine quickly responded.
Kamron Robinson knocked down a jumper to get the Redhawks started, and
Kayson Bryant followed with a three to tie the game at 5–5.
From there, Benedictine caught fire.
Miles Chanthavongsa turned a steal into a transition layup, and
Damian Zivak added a strong finish to push the Redhawks ahead 9–5. Robinson continued attacking the rim, while the bench made an immediate impact—
Diego Ledesma's steal and layup sparked a run, and Leo Scott drilled a three to extend the lead to 22–7.
The defense completely overwhelmed CETYS, forcing turnovers and converting them into points. Zivak knocked down back-to-back threes, Bryant added a clean drive to the basket, and Blackwell dominated the offensive glass to stretch the margin even further. By halftime, the Redhawks led comfortably, controlling every aspect of the game.
Second Half
Benedictine picked up right where they left off. Blackwell hit two early free throws, and Robinson opened the half with a big block. Zivak buried another three off a steal from Chanthavongsa, pushing the lead to 59–22.
Ledesma knocked down multiple mid-range jumpers, Scott added another three, and
Jayden Standifer contributed with a block and transition finish.
CETYS attempted to respond with a pair of threes from Arnold Lugo, but the Redhawks' control never wavered. Strong rebounding, steady ball movement, and disciplined defense carried Benedictine through the final stretch as they coasted to a dominant Senior Night victory.
