The Benedictine Mesa baseball team struggled against Arizona Christian, dropping both games of the series with losses of 12-3 and 13-0.
Game 1:
Benedictine Mesa started strong in the first game, jumping out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning. Jacob Bauler set the tone with a two-run homer to right field, scoring Alec Larson. Joseph Cosenza followed with an RBI single up the middle, bringing in Stephen Goldsberry.
However, Arizona Christian quickly responded in the bottom of the inning, cutting into the lead with an RBI single from Kiaunis. The Firestorm continued to apply pressure in the third, adding a pair of home runs. Edmonds' groundout allowed Sanders to score before Tarver blasted a two-run homer to put Arizona Christian ahead 4-3. Sanders followed with a solo home run, extending their lead to 5-3.
The Firestorm broke the game open in the fifth inning, scoring five runs. Tarver, Sanders, and Anderson each drove in runs before Vielguth capped off the big inning with a two-run homer to left center, pushing the deficit to 10-3. Arizona Christian added two more in the sixth, securing a 12-3 win over the Redhawks.

Arizona Christian dominated game two, shutting out Benedictine Mesa 13-0 behind a relentless offensive attack and strong pitching.
The Firestorm struck early, as Ivy led off the first inning with a solo home run to right field. Tarver quickly followed with a two-run homer to left center, giving Arizona Christian a 3-0 lead.
In the second inning, the Firestorm continued their offensive surge. Ivy drove in another run with a single, followed by a two-run triple from Tarver. A sacrifice fly from Kiaunis brought in another run, extending the lead to 7-0.
Arizona Christian continued to add to their lead in the fourth with a two-run homer from Kiaunis. The Firestorm capped off their dominant performance in the sixth, as Fukofuka launched a three-run home run to left field, sealing the 13-0 shutout victory.
Despite a strong start in game one, Benedictine Mesa was unable to keep pace with Arizona Christian's explosive offense and will look to bounce back in their next series.
