Game 3: Benedictine Mesa 5, Westcliff 3
In game one of the day and Game 3 of the series,
Benedictine Mesa (AZ) used timely power to secure a
5–3 win over
Westcliff (CA).
After three scoreless innings,
Ben Schnurman opened the scoring with a solo home run in the fourth. Westcliff tied the game in the fifth, but the Redhawks took control in the sixth when
AJ Fernandez blasted a three-run homer to give Benedictine Mesa a 4–1 lead. An RBI groundout from
Anthony Setticasi added insurance in the ninth. Westcliff homered in the final inning but couldn't complete the comeback.
Game 4: Westcliff 10, Benedictine Mesa 6
Westcliff responded in game two of the day, using big innings to claim a
10–6 victory in Game 4 of the series.
Benedictine Mesa struck first on an RBI single from
Schnurman and later regained the lead with a two-run third inning. Westcliff answered with three runs in the bottom of the third and added two more in the fourth. A four-run sixth inning proved decisive. The Redhawks rallied late behind a
three-run home run from Schnurman in the seventh, but Westcliff's bullpen closed out the win.
