The Benedictine University Mesa men's golf team opened its 2026-27 season with a strong showing at the Park Fall Invite, earning asecond-place team finish with a score of +7.8 after competing at both Whirlwind Golf Club and Los Colinas Golf Club.
The Redhawks were led by Nathan Giles, who turned in the team's top individual performance with a fourth-place finish at +4. After opening the tournament at one-under par, Giles remained among the leaders throughout the event to secure a top-five finish. Chris Johnsonalso posted a strong performance, tying for fifth overall at +5, highlighted by a three-under-par round in the tournament's final round.
Augustine Hyde and Palmi Freyer Davidsson rounded out Benedictine's lineup, with both players tying for seventh place at +6. Hyderecorded rounds of +4, even par, and +2, while Freyer Davidsson carded consistent scores of +2, +3, and +1 to finish among thetournament's top 10 golfers.
