Box Score MESA, Ariz. – The Benedictine University Mesa men's soccer team secured their 5th conference win against Soka University of America. The Redhawks are now 5-4-1 in Cal Pac and 5-7-3 overall.
The Redhawks scored late in the first half but continued to apply pressure on the Lions defense netting five goals in the match. The first came from Luis Olandez at the 41st minute. Olandez went on to collect a brace scoring another at the start of the second half.
Logan Haricombe scored at the 67th minute putting the Redhawks up, 3-0. The Lions would answer for one of the goals at the 75th minute but were unable to counter the Redhawks offense. Aiden Eldred responded with a goal within a minute of the Lions goal. Haricombe would score again at the 88th minute to notch his third brace of the season. The goal came on an assist from Luis Olandez.
The Redhawks outshot the Lions 16-7 and had a 10-4 advantage with shots on goal. Isaiah Moya played the full 90 minutes between the posts and made 3 saves to secure the win over the Lions.
