MESA, Ariz. – The Benedictine University Mesa women's volleyball team secured two wins against their Nor Cal opponents. The Redhawks defeated UC Merced, 3-0 (25-17,25-8,25-22) and the followed it with a 3-0 win over Simpson (26-24,25-19,25-16). The Redhawks improved to 15-2 overall and 8-1 in Cal Pac play.
Brianna Rivera led the team with 27 kills through two matches and a season high 17 kills against UC Merced. Rivera added an impressive .552 clip with 29 attempts and just one error against the Bobcats. Rivera totaled 10 kills against Simpson and a .381 clip.
Kylie Bartel added 19 kills, 12 digs, and four block assists through two matches.
Jewel Carling had her best match against Simpson where she tallied 7 kills in 11 attempts for a .455 clip. Carling also added 9 blocks in both matches.
Hattie Patton led the defense with 42 digs in two matches. Patton had a season high of 24 digs against Simpson.
Annika Wallace had 20 assists in both matches for the team high of 40 assists.
