The Benedictine Mesa Men's Basketball team concluded their regular season with a convincing 79-58 victory against Cal Maritime on Saturday evening.
Quincy Reece initiated scoring for the Redhawks with a layup in the paint. Cal Maritime led until the 12:42 mark when
Jamaal Wright's jumper propelled BenU into the lead, a position they maintained for the remainder of the game. While the Keelhaulers trailed, they stayed within a few points, and the Redhawks concluded the first half with a lead of 31-25.
The second half began with a 3-pointer from
Damian Zivak, extending the lead to 9 points. BenU then embarked on a 7-point run, interrupted only by a layup from Cal Maritime. Benedictine gained momentum with consecutive 3-pointers and a dunk from
Jamaal Wright. A notable high-energy moment included a steal from
Eric Norton, leading to a fast-break dunk by him. The Redhawks finished the game with a commanding 21-point lead, securing the victory at 79-58.
