The Benedictine Mesa Baseball team secured a 7-3 victory over Antelope Valley in the first game of their series.
In the opening inning,
Dylan Bangs crossed the plate on a walk to Dan Miranda, while an error by the catcher allowed
Daniel Miranda to score. Another error at first base allowed
Alec Larson to add to the score.
Jack Fitzgerald's single to left field brought
Jacob Bauler home, establishing a 4-0 lead. In the 2nd inning,
Daniel Miranda's single to shortstop allowed
Preston Vine-Close to score, extending the lead to 5-0.
Antelope Valley managed to score one run in the 5th inning, making it 5-1. Moving to the 5th inning, Ivan Santos singled to center field, bringing
Anthony Sortino home, resulting in a 6-1 lead.
Carlos Parra's sacrifice bunt allowed Ivan Santos to score. In the 8th inning, Antelope Valley scored two runs, narrowing the score to 7-3. The Redhawks ultimately secured the win.
