The Benedictine Beach Volleyball team had a mixed weekend, facing a loss against Westcliff but bouncing back with a victory against Park Gilbert on Saturday.
In the match against Westcliff, Benedictine's first pair, Annika and Kylie, experienced a tough start, losing the first set 13-21 and the second set 16-21. The second pair, Megan and Jewel, fought hard but fell short, losing both sets 13-21 and 18-21. The third pair, Anna and
Haley Lopez, faced similar challenges, losing 13-21 and 16-21. The fourth pair, Sophie and Hayley White, battled closely but fell in both sets, 17-21 and 13-21. The fifth pair,
Keelan Memory and Courtney, fought hard but lost both sets, 15-21 and 15-21.
In the match against Park Gilbert, Benedictine's first pair, Kylie and Annika, displayed resilience, winning the first set 25-23 and the second set 21-11. The second pair, Megan and Jewel, dropped the first set 14-21 but fought hard in the second set, narrowly falling 21-23. The third pair, Hayley Lopez and Anna, faced challenges, losing 21-9 in the first set and 20-22 in the second set. The fourth pair, Sophie and Hayley White, made a comeback after losing the first set 20-22, winning the second set 21-16, and securing the third set 13-15. In the fifth game, the pair of
Christina Sanchez and
Amanda Klotz clinched both sets, winning 21-15 and 21-17. The Redhawks battled hard and secured the overall victory against Park with a 3-2 score.
Looking ahead, the Redhawks will be back on the court on Thursday, March 14th, facing UTEP and U of A in Tucson, AZ.
