The Benedictine Mesa Softball team faced tough losses in a doubleheader against Saint Katherine on Sunday, falling 3-6 in the first game and 2-3 in the second.
Game 1:
Saint Katherine took an early lead in the 1st inning with 3 runs. Benedictine scored a run in the 1st inning when Gabi Perez singled, bringing in
Natasha Lawrence. They added another run in the 2nd inning with
Samantha Lawrence's double, scoring
Amanda Clack. The game remained tied until the 5th inning when McKenzie Hamilton's single tied it at 3-3. Saint Katherine later secured the win with 3 runs in the 8th inning.
Game 2:
In the second game, Saint Katherine took the lead in the 4th inning, but Benedictine tied it when
Brandee Ayala stole second base, allowing
Ariana Knight to steal home. Saint Katherine regained the lead in the 6th inning, and Benedictine couldn't recover, falling short 2-3.

Samantha Lawrence had 2 hits, including a double, and contributed 1 run and 1 RBI in the first game, along with a stolen base.
Brandee Ayala had 1 hit, 1 RBI, and 2 stolen bases in the second game.
