The Benedictine Mesa Beach Volleyball team endured a tough day at the Cal Pac Jamboree, dropping both matches. The Redhawks faced Park Gilbert first, suffering a 1-4 defeat, followed by a 0-5 loss to Westcliff.
Against Park Gilbert, the first pair of
Jewel Carling and
Megan Hicks lost in straight sets, 16-21 and 12-21, while
Kylie Bartel and
Amanda Lopez, the second pair, faced a similar outcome, falling 14-21 in both sets.
Courtney Ely and
Anna Brytkowska, the third pair, struggled as well, losing 18-21 and 15-21. However, the fourth pair of
Amanda Klotz and
Christina Sanchez managed to secure a win, triumphing 21-14 and 21-19. The fifth pair, Haley White and
Keelan Memory, fought hard but ultimately succumbed 15-21 and 20-22.
Facing Westcliff, the challenges continued for the Redhawks. Carling and Hicks, playing as the first pair, lost decisively, 7-21 and 14-21. Bartel and Lopez, the second pair, showed resilience but couldn't clinch victory, falling 14-21 and 23-25. Ely and Brytkowska, the third pair, encountered difficulties, losing 6-21 and 15-21. Klotz and Sanchez, the fourth pair, struggled as well, suffering a defeat of 5-21 and 6-21. The final pair, White and Memory, faced a similar fate, losing 11-21 and 8-21.
With these results, the Redhawks conclude their regular season with a record of 4-8, securing 4th place in the Cal Pac standings.
