The Benedictine Mesa Softball team suffered defeats in both games against Simpson on Sunday, resulting in a series loss. The first game ended with a score of 0-2, while the second concluded with a score of 2-6.
In the opening game, Simpson secured a 2-0 victory by scoring two runs in the 5th inning, while Benedictine failed to score throughout the game.
In the second game, Simpson took an early lead in the 5th inning, going up 1-0. However, Benedictine rallied in the bottom of the 5th as
Savannah Howard's single to left field brought Lei Madrazo and
Brandee Ayala home, making it 2-1. Despite the effort, Simpson tied the score in the 6th and then took the lead, advancing to 3-2. In the 7th inning, Simpson scored two more runs, extending their lead to 6-2. Benedictine couldn't respond in the bottom of the 7th, sealing their loss at 2-6.
