The Benedictine Mesa Softball team faced tough losses in both games of Saturday's doubleheader against Simpson. The first game ended with a score of 2-4, while the second game saw a score of 4-13.
In the opening game, Embry-Riddle took the lead in the fourth inning, but Benedictine quickly responded with two runs of their own.
Amanda Clack's single allowed Lei Madrazo to score, followed by
Savannah Howard's hit to right field, bringing Clack home. Despite their efforts, Benedictine couldn't hold off Embry-Riddle, who secured the win with a homerun in the fifth inning.
The second game began with Embry-Riddle dominating, scoring five runs in the first inning and adding two more in the third. Another homerun in the fourth extended their lead to 0-9. Facing a potential run-rule, the Redhawks rallied in the fifth inning, scoring four runs. Key plays included
