The Benedictine Mesa Softball team faced a formidable challenge in a doubleheader against OUAZ, unfortunately coming up short in both games despite a determined effort. The opening game ended with a score of 0-2, while the following match proved to be a closer affair, concluding with a scoreline of 5-6 in favor of OUAZ.
In the first game, OUAZ took an early lead with a run in the opening inning, and although the Redhawks managed to hold them off until the 5th inning, they couldn't generate any offense of their own, resulting in a 0-2 defeat.
The second game showcased
Amanda Clack's standout performance with a home run in the first inning, bringing
Brandee Ayala and herself across home plate. Benedictine gained momentum, scoring runs in the 3rd inning through McKenzie Hamilton's single and Lei Madrazo's fielder's choice, establishing a 4-0 lead. However, OUAZ fought back, scoring three runs in the third inning and eventually tying the game 5-5 in the 5th inning. Despite a resilient effort from Benedictine, OUAZ managed to secure the win with a decisive run in the 6th inning, sealing the game 5-6.
Key players in the matchups included

Amanda Clack's homer, one run, and two RBIs were notable contributions, along with efforts from
Brandee Ayala and
