The Benedictine Mesa Softball team faced defeats in both games of their doubleheader against Park Gilbert, with scores of 1-2 and 2-3.
In the opening game, Park secured an early lead with a run in the 1st inning. However, Benedictine responded in the 2nd inning as
Savannah Howard's single to left field allowed Lei Madrazo to score, leveling the score at 1-1. Park managed to score another run in the 3rd inning, and despite Benedictine's efforts, they were unable to equalize, resulting in a 1-2 loss.
In the second game, Park took the lead in the 5th inning. Benedictine fought back in the 6th inning, with
Lauren Franco's single bringing
Autumn Giannini home to tie the game at 1-1. The game remained deadlocked until the 10th inning when
Paige Salazar capitalized on a Park error, scoring for the Redhawks. However, Park rallied in the bottom of the 10th, scoring two runs to snatch a 2-3 victory despite Benedictine's strong effort.
