The Benedictine Mesa Softball team split their last regular season doubleheader with Arizona Christian. In the first game, the Redhawks lost 3-7, but bounced back in the second game, winning 2-1 in 10 innings.
ACU took an early lead in the first game, scoring two runs in the 2nd inning and adding two more in the 3rd, followed by three in the 5th to make it 0-7. Benedictine managed to score three runs, with Gabi Perez's double bringing in Lei Madrazo and
Brandee Ayala in the 6th inning, and
Amanda Clack hitting a home run in the 7th. However, they couldn't catch up, ending the game 3-7.
In the second game, BenU scored first in the 4th inning when
Savannah Howard's single brought in Gabi Perez. ACU tied the game 1-1 in the 5th inning. The game remained tied until the 10th inning when
Brandee Ayala's single allowed
Kiara Martinez to score, securing the Redhawks' victory 2-1.
