Baseball Clinches Series Sweep Against La Sierra

The Benedictine Mesa Baseball team secured victories in both games of their doubleheader against La Sierra on Senior Day Sunday, clinching the series win in their final home appearance. The Redhawks triumphed 6-2 in game one and dominated 13-1 in game two.

In the opener, La Sierra grabbed an early lead with a run in the 1st inning, but Benedictine responded in the 3rd as Antony Sortino and Carlos Parra crossed the plate off Ryan Curran's sacrifice fly and Jack Fitzgerald's double. La Sierra tied it 2-2 in the 5th before Benedictine pulled ahead with runs in the 6th and 7th innings, securing a 6-2 victory.

Game two saw the Redhawks explode for four runs in the 2nd inning and pile on with three more in the 3rd. They continued their offensive onslaught with additional runs in the 4th and 5th innings, ultimately winning 13-1 in 7 innings due to the run rule.
