The Benedictine University Mesa women's volleyball team secured a decisive win over La Sierra, taking the match 3–1 behind dominant serving runs, balanced attacking, and timely defensive stops.
The Redhawks came out strong in the opening set, quickly finding rhythm offensively.
Sophie Drollinger and
Railey Druxman powered the attack early, and
Julia Hodges delivered an ace to push Benedictine ahead 8–3. From there,
Vivianna Galvan spread the ball efficiently to her hitters, and BelleRose Branconier and
Janae Moore closed the set with clutch points at the net, sealing a 25–15 win.
Set two followed a similar pattern, with Benedictine controlling much of the pace. Galvan's steady setting allowed Collins, Drollinger, and Druxman to consistently find gaps in La Sierra's defense. Drollinger strung together back-to-back service aces as the Redhawks built a 15–9 cushion. Though La Sierra battled back late with kills from Julissa Rodriguez and Ariana Pedroza, Benedictine's composure held firm as Druxman finished the set 25–22.
The third set was the lone stumble for the Redhawks. La Sierra's offense came alive behind Lindsay Delgadillo's setting and Lanah Bergen's kills. Despite multiple service aces from Drollinger and strong finishes by Collins, Moore and Druxman, Benedictine fell in a nail-biter 34–32 as La Sierra capitalized on late service errors.
Determined to close the match, Benedictine stormed out in the fourth set with back-to-back aces from Galvan and a flurry of kills from Drollinger and Druxman. Hodges and Collins added sparks off the bench, while Branconier and Moore provided key blocks at the net. The Redhawks built momentum with a string of aces, surging to a 21–13 lead before finishing the set 25–16 to claim the match.
