The Benedictine University Mesa women's volleyball team put up a strong fight but ultimately fell to Arizona Christian University in four sets (13–25, 25–23, 24–26, 22–25) in conference action.
The opening set saw the Firestorm take control early, capitalizing on Redhawk errors and stringing together a series of kills from Ryan Coughlin and Zuri Reeser to pull away for a 25–13 win.
Benedictine responded in the second set with resilience. Behind the steady setting of
Vivianna Galvan and the offensive firepower of
Railey Druxman and
Sophie Drollinger, the Redhawks built a lead and held off a late ACU surge to claim a hard-fought 25–23 victory.
The third set proved to be a thriller, with both teams trading momentum throughout.
Janae Moore provided a spark at the net for the Redhawks, while
Drollinger continued to find success on the attack. The set came down to extra points, but ACU closed it out 26–24.
Set four mirrored much of the back-and-forth play seen earlier. Benedictine rallied from behind midway through, fueled by key kills from
Druxman and
Moore, and defensive stops from
Camille Collins and
BelleRose Branconier. However, the Firestorm responded with timely kills and a late ace to edge out the Redhawks 25–22 and secure the match.
