The Benedictine University Mesa women's volleyball team turned in a dominant performance, sweeping Westcliff University 3–0 with scores of 25–15, 25–20, and 25–15.
From the opening whistle, the Redhawks came out strong behind the serving and setting of
Vivianna Galvan, who fueled an early run that forced Westcliff into a timeout. Kills from
Sophie Drollinger and
Railey Druxman stretched the lead, while the front line of
Camille Collins and
BelleRose Branconier sealed the net defensively. Benedictine controlled the first set comfortably, closing on back-to-back service aces from
Julia Hodges to claim a 25–15 win.
The second set proved to be more competitive as Westcliff responded with strong play from
Samantha Carelock and
Joliayns Roman, briefly taking the lead at 19–18. But the Redhawks rallied with poise, using key kills from
Janae Moore and Drollinger to swing momentum back in their favor. Galvan's steady setting guided the offense down the stretch, and Branconier delivered the finishing touches at the net as Benedictine pulled away for a 25–20 victory.
In the third set, Benedictine quickly reestablished control. Galvan once again set the tone with a service ace, while Druxman and Collins powered the attack. Hodges provided a spark off the bench with a string of aces, extending the lead to double digits. Late contributions from
Haley Azzoz,
Lily Setka, and
Logan McPherson capped off the match as the Redhawks secured the 25–15 win to complete the sweep.
