The Benedictine University Mesa men's basketball team is set to embark on an exciting 2026-27 campaign, one that features a challenging non-conference slate, multiple tournament opportunities, and a demanding Great Southwest Athletic Conference schedule.
The Redhawks began the year with an exhibition contest against Nelson University on Oct. 22 before officially opening the home schedule during Flight Night against Stanton University on Oct. 28 inside the BENU PEC. The early portion of the schedule provides several opportunities for the team to settle into game action while competing against programs from across the western United States.
November will feature the first major road trip of the season as Benedictine travels to Portland, Oregon, for a pair of games against Warner Pacific. Later in the month, the Redhawks will welcome Justice College to Mesa before beginning GSAC play at nearby Park University Gilbert. The month concludes with a trip to the College of Idaho Tournament, where Benedictine is scheduled to face Eastern Oregon and host College of Idaho.
December presents one of the busiest stretches of the season. The Redhawks will host Life Pacific and Westcliff before traveling to California to take on Grace University and Westcliff. Benedictine will then compete in the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Classic in Prescott, facing Morningside University and Northern New Mexico College. The month wraps up with a home matchup against Lethbridge College before the Redhawks close out the calendar year with an exhitbition against NCAA Division I opponent Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.
Conference play intensifies after the holiday break with Benedictine opening January at OUAZ in Surprise. The Redhawks will host Hope International, La Sierra, Arizona Christian, and OUAZ while also facing key road trips to Embry-Riddle, The Master's, Life Pacific, and other GSAC opponents. The conference schedule will test the team's depth and consistency as every game becomes increasingly important in the race for postseason positioning.
