Benedictine Mesa beach volleyball showed grit and competitiveness across all five flights on Saturday, taking multiple matches to decisive third sets and earning a straight-set victory on the No. 2 court, but the Redhawks ultimately fell 4–1 to OUAZ.
The highlight of the day came at the
No. 2 flight, where the duo of
Sophie Drollinger and Daisy Motes delivered an impressive straight-set win. The Redhawk pair controlled the match from start to finish, earning a 21–16, 21–12 victory and securing Benedictine's lone point of the dual.
Two additional flights pushed their matches to a third set, showcasing the team's depth and resilience.
At the
No. 3 flight,
Ella Burton and Izabella Duchaine battled back from a first-set loss to win the second set 21–19, forcing a decisive third. The pair continued to apply pressure but came up just short in a tight 15–10 final frame

A similar fight was on display at the
No. 4 flight, where
Haley Azzoz and Isabella Garey responded to an opening-set setback with a strong 21–12 second-set win. Their momentum carried into a competitive third set before OUAZ edged out the 15–11 decision.
On the No. 1 court,
Amaya Evans and Taylor Erickson battled against OUAZ's top pair, keeping both sets tight before falling 21–17, 21–15.
The No. 5 flight saw strong stretches from the Redhawks as well.
Bailey Preieto and Adina Ortiz put together a strong second-set push at the fives but were unable to extend the match.
