Women's Volleyball Triumphs in Five-Set Comeback Victory Over The Master’s

The Benedictine Mesa Women's Volleyball team staged multiple comebacks to defeat The Master's University in a thrilling five-set match, with final scores of 23-25, 25-23, 18-25, 25-22, and 15-7.
 
Set 1: 
The opening set was tightly contested, with Benedictine starting strong with an early kill from Hailey White. The Master's responded, leading to a back-and-forth battle. Benedictine gained momentum through key kills by Gracelynn Nez and Mya Barron, but The Master's capitalized on Benedictine's errors. Despite efforts from White and Drollinger, The Master's won the set 25-23, sealing it with a block.
 
Set 2:  
Benedictine came out strong in the second set, with early kills by Vivianna Galvan and Kylie Bartel giving them a quick lead. The teams exchanged points, but Benedictine pulled ahead after kills from Bartel, Nez, and White. Despite a late rally from The Master's, Benedictine secured the set 25-23, thanks to a key kill from Bartel and a Master's attack error.
 
Set 3:
The third set saw Benedictine struggling early as The Master's jumped to a 3-0 lead. Benedictine fought back with kills from Nez and Carling, briefly taking the lead. However, The Master's capitalized on Benedictine's errors and took control. Despite kills from Barron and service aces from Galvan, The Master's secured the set 25-18 with a decisive kill.
 
Set 4:  
Benedictine responded in the fourth set with strong early play from Nez, Carling, and Megan Hicks. A service ace from Hattie Patton and kills from Bartel and Barron helped push Benedictine ahead. The Master's mounted a late push, but Benedictine held on to win 25-22, closing out the set with a block from Carling.
 
Set 5:  
In the decisive fifth set, Benedictine dominated early with Barron and Nez leading a 4-0 run. The Master's struggled with attack errors, and Benedictine extended their lead to 8-1, forcing two timeouts. Despite a brief surge from The Master's, Benedictine maintained control with key plays from Bartel and Barron, ultimately winning the set 15-7 and securing the match with a final kill from Carling.

Looking Ahead: The Redhawks are back on the court tomorrow, Saturday October 5th as they head to Prescott, AZ to play Embry-Riddle at 2 PM.
