The Benedictine University Mesa women's soccer team turned in a dominant all-around performance on Wednesday, powering past Justice College 4–1. The Redhawks controlled the pace from start to finish, generating relentless pressure on offense while keeping their defensive shape intact.
Benedictine set the tone early, peppering Justice goalkeeper Kalei Garcia with shots from Dahlia Alonso, Rylee Hatcher, and Jodie McCulloch. Despite several close calls—including a strike off the crossbar—the breakthrough came in the 31st minute when Alonso finished clinically to give the Redhawks a 1–0 lead.
The Redhawks found their rhythm in the second half. In the 57th minute, Brylee Rod doubled the advantage with her first goal of the season. Just two minutes later, Cahryn Rod added her first career goal, set up by Tori St. Rose, to make it 3–0.
Justice responded in the 75th minute cutting the deficit to 3–1, but Benedictine quickly reasserted control. After a missed penalty from Neshma Rodriguez, the Redhawks capped the night in the 90th minute as Alonso fed Brylee Rod for her second goal, sealing the 4–1 victory.
