Redhawks vs. Mustangs: A Preview of the Clash for the GSAC Women’s Volleyball Championship

The Benedictine Mesa Women's Volleyball team is headed to the GSAC Women's Volleyball Conference Championship on Saturday, November 16th, at 3:00 PM MST, hosted by The Master's. Both teams have displayed impressive performances this season, setting the stage for an exciting showdown. The Master's has been a dominant force, averaging 13.36 kills per set, a .229 hitting efficiency, and 2.21 service aces per set. Benedictine Mesa has matched this intensity with 13.16 kills per set, a .200 hitting efficiency, and an impressive 2.03 blocks per set, showcasing their resilience and tactical gameplay.

This championship clash marks the third meeting between these teams this season. Benedictine Mesa claimed victory in their first encounter on October 4th, edging out The Master's in a five-set thriller. The Redhawks delivered 66 kills with a .221 hitting percentage and recorded 96 digs, while The Master's posted 56 kills, hit .162, and had 85 digs. The Master's responded in the second matchup with a commanding three-set win, notching 45 kills at a .254 hitting percentage, compared to Benedictine's 27 kills at .104 hitting.
 
Key players are expected to shine in this highly anticipated match. For Benedictine Mesa, Kylie Bartel leads the offense, averaging 4.14 kills per set, while setter Vivanna Galvan contributes 5.06 assists per set, and libero Hattie Pattonanchors the defense with 5.32 digs per set. The Master's boasts an equally formidable lineup led by Grace Colburn, the GSAC Player of the Year, who averages 4.61 kills and 0.63 aces per set. Supporting her are Ruby Duncan, with 3.90 kills per set, and Sierra Hale, excelling defensively with 3.95 digs per set.
