WVB Finishes Out Viper Sports Academy Classic With 2 More Wins

The Benedictine Mesa Women's Volleyball won both matches on Monday. They won the first match against Keiser in three sets (25-21, 25-21, 25-23) and defeated Oregon Tech in the second match in a close 5 set battle (25-17, 25-23, 16-25, 22-25, 15-7). 

Match 1:
Benedictine Mesa secured a 3-0 victory over Keiser with set scores of 25-21, 25-21, and 25-23. 

In the first set, Benedictine Mesa took an early lead with strong kills and blocks, though Keiser fought back to tie it at 2-2. Benedictine pulled ahead with service aces from Lily Setka and critical plays, winning the set 25-21 despite Keiser's late rally.

The second set saw Benedictine edge out Keiser 25-21. Key contributions from Setka and Bartel, along with a decisive block, helped Benedictine maintain their advantage.

Benedictine completed the match with a 25-23 win in the third set. Standout performances from Bartel, Wallace, and Druxman were crucial in overcoming Keiser's challenges and securing the final set.

Match 2: 
In a five-set thriller, Benedictine Mesa defeated Oregon Tech 3-2 with set scores of 25-17, 25-23, 22-25, 22-25, and 15-7.

Benedictine won the first set 25-17, overcoming an early deficit with key plays from Druxman and Bartel. Despite a late timeout by Oregon Tech, Benedictine's momentum continued, ending with a kill by Hailey White.

The second set was closely contested, with Benedictine edging out Oregon Tech 25-23. An ace from Vivianna Galvan and crucial kills from Druxman and Bartel sealed the set.

Oregon Tech came back to win the third set 25-22, leveraging attack errors from Benedictine and maintaining a solid lead despite a late push from the Redhawks.

In the fourth set, both teams battled fiercely, but Oregon Tech managed a 25-22 victory, forcing a decisive fifth set.

Benedictine dominated the final set 15-7. Early errors from Oregon Tech and strong performances from White, Druxman, and Wallace helped Benedictine secure the win.
