Benedictine University Mesa Athletics is excited to welcome John Konya as the new head men's golf coach.

Konya joins the Redhawks after leading both the men's and women's programs at Aquinas College from 2023–2025, highlighted by a men's victory at the Lourdes Invitational and a women's runner-up finish at Harbor Shores. A PGA member since 1990, he has held leadership roles at Seaview in New Jersey, The Pointe at Tapatio in Phoenix, and Camelback Golf Club, and has extensive experience in collegiate coaching and golf instruction, including over a decade at Maple Hill Golf Course in Michigan.

Known for his passion for player development, Konya has worked with and learned from top instructors such as Sean Foley, Dave Stockton, and Dave Pelz, and has hosted LPGA Tour events and NBC Sports Skills Challenges. "With a strong core of returning players and talented newcomers, we're ready to compete in a tough conference and aim for Nationals," Konya said.

Athletic Director Charles Averkamp added, "John is an established leader who will bring tremendous value to our student-athletes both on and off the course. We're excited for the future of Redhawk Golf under his leadership. Go Redhawks!"
