Benedictine University Mesa opened the match in dominant fashion and never looked back, sweeping Life Pacific University in straight sets (25-12, 25-14, 25-10).
The Redhawks settled in early after the opening points of the first set, using a balanced offensive attack and strong play at the net to build momentum. Trailing 4-3, BENU ripped off a 12-2 run fueled by kills from Sophie Drollinger, BellaRose Branconier, Camille Collins, and Addy Green. Haley Azzoz sparked the surge from the service line with three aces as the Redhawks closed the set on a 15-2 run for a 25-12 victory.
Benedictine carried that momentum into the second set, jumping out to a 7-3 advantage behind kills from Marley Cortez, Drollinger, and Green. A lengthy run midway through the frame allowed the Redhawks to stretch the lead to double digits. Drollinger and Collins powered the offense while the BENU block continued to frustrate the Warriors. The Redhawks never allowed Life Pacific closer than eight points the rest of the way, cruising to a 25-14 win.
The third set was more of the same as Benedictine quickly seized control. Kills from Collins and Drollinger helped the Redhawks build an early lead before a 6-1 run pushed the advantage to 20-8. BENU's defense remained strong, forcing multiple attacking errors from Life Pacific while the offense continued to spread the ball around efficiently. Late kills from Janae Moore and Sophie Drollinger helped seal the match as the Redhawks completed the sweep with a 25-10 victory.
Drollinger led the Redhawks attack with a match-high offensive effort, while Collins and Cortez provided key contributions throughout the contest. Taylee Wilson and Dominxie Celaya directed the offense, helping Benedictine hit efficiently across all three sets. The defense was anchored by Collins, Green, and Malone at the net as BENU recorded several blocks and forced the Warriors into numerous attack errors.
